SUSTAINABLE DINING TRAINING
Make Your Communal Food Practices Sustainable by Default
Our Sustainable Dining Trainings are open to Jewish community* representatives who want to make their collective food practices more sustainable - by default!
In this 1-hour virtual training, you will learn the basics of why our food choices matter and how shifting default options makes it easier for community members to choose food that’s better for people, animals, and the planet.
This foundational session will help you understand a behavioral and environmental science-backed approach to greener food practices. Afterwards, you’ll be ready to jump in to developing your community’s sustainable food policy.
*"Community" refers to any institution, organization, or associated gathering that serves food to a group at least once a year (e.g., synagogue, school, camp, JCC, Hillel, Jewish nonprofit, elder care facility, conference).
“CJFE’s focus on sustainable dining practices in Jewish communal spaces fills an important gap and can help deepen communal engagement around environmental responsibility, food justice, and Jewish values.”
