SUSTAINABLE DINING TRAINING E-COURSE

LEARN TO CREATE COMMUNITY
THAT’S SUSTAINABLE BY DEFAULT

Ready to bring sustainable food practices to your Jewish community?
Sign up today for our NEW Sustainable Dining Training E-course!

In this 3-week self-paced email course, you’ll learn the basics of why our communal food practices matter and how to create a dining environment that promotes sustainability and Jewish food justice values.

This training is perfect for community* representatives seeking actionable, evidence-based strategies and implementation tips tailored to Jewish dining settings.

*"Community" refers to any institution, organization, or associated gathering that serves food to a group at least once a year (e.g., synagogue, school, camp, JCC, Hillel, Jewish nonprofit, elder care facility, conference).

TRAINING OVERVIEW

Each week, you’ll receive an email with a video lesson taught by an expert in their field, recommended reading and sources for further learning, and an interactive activity to help you test your knowledge.

Lesson 1: Connecting Food, Climate, and Jewish Values with Kayla Kaplan

Lesson 2: The Science and Strategies of Sustainable Dining with Ilana Braverman

Lesson 3: How to Align Jewish Values with Your Community Food Practices with Rabbi Melissa Hoffman

The training is asynchronous and can be completed at your convenience. CJFE’s staff is available to answer questions or discuss the materials.

CJFE’s focus on sustainable dining practices in Jewish communal spaces fills an important gap and can help deepen communal engagement around environmental responsibility, food justice, and Jewish values.
